I am lucky that I have lived in two of the four main time zones in the United States and in four different states. You always feel a little cultural difference in every place that you live, even if they're all in the same country. I've lived in the Midwest, the South, and now the Northeast, but I've yet to experience the wonder and glory of the West. I don't want to be mean to the California, Oregon, and Washington divas, but I don't think I would thrive out west. I am not a rugged frontiersman trying to find a better life for my family in a place where there might be gold. I am just trying to live somewhere that has a winter, a good public transit system, and a lot of fun stuff to do, and NYC checks all of those boxes.
